"Ryan is easily one of the best guitar repair people in LA. I have been taking guitars to Ryan for the last year or so. After years of hopping from repair person to repair person in the LA area but I can finally stop hopping. Ryan has now fixed 6 of my guitars. Including restoration work on a 1956 Gibson J-160E and a 1938 Gibson L-00. I cannot express to you how thorough a job he does and how well he looks after your guitars. He managed to preserve the original bridge and pick guard while turning the L00 into a Lefty for me. The pick guard was unexpected and welcome. I can now say that I will trust Ryan with every single one of my instruments." -Matt "I have been to many other places for work on my guitars, places that I really liked a lot, but this is my new go-to spot! Ryan has clearly mastered his craft and exceeded my expectations with my recent National Telecaster. I took it in for a total revamp, custom pickguard, refret, setup, etc. and let's just say it's pretty much a new guitar. Not only did he complete it in a timely fashion, but he also kept me updated with photos and continued to ask more questions in order to dial it in exactly how I needed it. Folks, if you need exemplary guitar work done at a very reasonable price, hit this man up!!" -Michael "Can't say enough good things about his service and expertise. I've had 5 of my basses set up by him 3 of which are vintage. I don't let just anybody touch the vintage ones especially my 1967 Fender PBass, it is my most prized possession but Ryan I trust wholeheartedly with it! He did an amazing job on my 1974 PBass that had some issues with the neck that no one else was able to resolve since I picked it up back in 1994. I had written it off and was in fact thinking about replacing the neck but Ryan convinced me to let him try something and lo and behold he worked his magic, the buzz is gone and the action is almost perfect. He called me several times during the process to keep me updated on what he was doing and a few weeks after he called again to check up on how it was doing like a doctor checking on his patient." -Gianni "I came in with a bass guitar with a damaged neck. The repair is so good you can't even see where the damage was! If your guitar needs repair this is the place to go. Came back 5 months later with a vintage Fender Bass that needed some work on the neck to make it playable. Ryan discussed the options with me, explaining what would be most effective and what would damage the value the instrument. He laid out the costs of every option and the time it would take. By the time I left I had a clear understanding of what he was planning to do. When I picked it up yesterday I was blown away. It looks much better than I was expecting and feels great. The neck now looks fantastic, feels great and, plays the way it should. That's two repairs on two instruments. Ryan's work is the best you can hope for. If I need another repair you can be sure I will be back." -Richard "GREAT guitar repair service. Not only does Ryan do solid work at an affordable price, he's a genuinely nice guy and believes in making his customers happy. He did a setup on two acoustic guitars for me recently for $60 a pop, and insures his work with a 60-day policy to bring it back if you're not satisfied. There was a slight buzz on my Martin on a few capo positions after he lowered the action, and sure enough, he was happy to take another crack at it free of charge a month later. Now both guitars sound better than ever." -Greg "I got set ups for both my Dean Thoroughbreds here at LA Guitar Repair recently. One of my guitars also needed a bridge and input jack replacement, while the other needed the pickup selector switch replaced. Both guitars came back sparkling clean and played better than ever. The turn around time was quicker than expected and the prices were reasonable. Ryan can also play some mean country fried guitar licks." -Erik "dude. DUDE. Ryan took my bright pink $60 SG knock-off (practically a thrift store guitar) and transformed it into my new favorite thing to play. the action is deliciously low but with no buzzing, everything everywhere sounds totally in tune, everything is just rock solid. can't recommend highly enough, and can't wait to bring him my other "ugly duckling" guitars to see what magic he can work. thank ya sir!" -Christopher "Go to this place! I called this morning because my cheap little guitar had an issue with the bridge pins that I couldn't fix and I need my guitar for the weekend... Ryan told me to come on in, he spent 15-20min with it and it was fixed! Then he only charged me for the parts! Ryan is super friendly, fast and obviously very helpful! If you have repair needs he is the man to see! My cheap little guitar never sounded so good!" -Joel |
